Hello everyone!
My name is Rhylee, and I’m from a small town called Churubusco, NY. Growing up, I was a regular patient at Gentle Touch Family Dentistry, and now I’m thrilled to be part of the team as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
After spending years as a patient here, I decided to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. I dove deep into researching the profession and had the opportunity to ask questions during a routine cleaning appointment with my mom. That conversation sparked a deeper interest in the field and solidified my decision. The journey to becoming a dental hygienist has been challenging, but every step has been worth it.
In May 2024, I graduated from Vermont Technical College (which transitioned to Vermont State University during my time there). While in school, I had the chance to shadow the team at Gentle Touch and work as a Dental Assistant on days I wasn’t attending clinicals in Vermont. This hands-on experience was invaluable in shaping my career.
One thing that has really stood out to me is the difference in atmosphere between my college experiences and the environment at Gentle Touch. It’s not just about providing exceptional dental care; it’s about building relationships with patients and ensuring everyone feels comfortable from the moment they walk in the door. I love that we focus on creating a welcoming, friendly environment where our patients feel like family.
People often ask me why I would choose to work in people’s mouths, and I always say, “I’ve always loved going to the dentist, and more importantly, I enjoy working with and helping people.” As a passionate dental hygienist, I’m excited about the many experiences ahead and the wonderful patients I’ll get to work with. My goal is to help make every visit a positive one and ensure everyone feels comfortable and cared for.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my two dogs, Levi and Emmerson. I also volunteer with the Churubusco Volunteer Fire Department and respond to EMS calls with Clinton EMS. I’m also a big fan of outdoor activities like camping, ATV riding, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. And I’m excited to rekindle my love for sports by joining a recreational soccer league and women’s softball team.
